Naturally a beautiful spot but there's some unauthorized camping activities that make some areas closer to the Columbia river feel sketchy. The Sandy is a temperate river to swim in over the summer. Some areas get filled with yahoos having no consideration to pick up their garbage and to leave a place as pristine as they found it. We did a socially distanced late November birthday with a great view of sunset, the river and passing trains. Even on a winter weekend they ticketed so don't park where it says not to!
There's a river here.

Friendly staff and beautiful scenery.
Great access point to either the Clackamas or Columbia River..endless trails, fishing, hiking..
