Absolute phenomenal asian/chinese market, places like this are the reason I wish I lived in portland. The clerks are super friendly, kind, and helpful. The selection is also awesome, from veges to fish to seaweed to bamboo shoots to agar agar powder (jf you know you, you know, if you don't, your missing out (think gummy bears, cheese, vegan deserts, and science/medium to start growing blue oyster mushrooms) to an impressive supply of cookware (the marble coated pan I got is easily my new favorite) (also the best place to buy chopsticks, they were such a good deal I got 3 different sets). And the prices are an absolutely insane value. For example Agar Agar powder (Golden coin brand) is 165grams for $1.99, a comparison is Amazon (this product in particular being one of the reasons I havn't quit my subscription yet but will soon now I know places like this exist) (telephone brand) where its $10.38 for 125grams, and those come in annoying 25gram little packets (what a waste of plastic!), not to mention Golden Coin is a FAR superior brand and quality powder than telephone...Did I mention they have the best selection of loose leaf tea I've ever seen as well as carry staples like ginseng and gingko Biloba?nnWill be my new time every stop when I visit Portland, words cannot do justice to the service provided by the amazing individuals who run and make this shop happen.
