I have been walking here for the last 22 years, long before it officially became a Nature Preserve. It has beautiful flowers and colorful trees. It is pretty much level so no one who can't handle hills will be disappointed. It generally only gets muddy adjacent to flowing water. So you won't reach a bottle neck and have to turn around. It is pretty quiet except when trains come through just south of the preserve. It is dear to my heart because I can walk to it and walk through it and escape rectangular devices!
Small forest preserve tucked away in a residential area. Trail is basically unmarked, but trail maps provided at the parking area. Nonetheless it's easy to get somewhat confused about which of the trail branches to take, although the preserve is small enough you can't really get lost. Scenic terrain.....looks like it gets somewhat muddy after a rain. Enjoyable hiking. Recommended.
Outstanding trail for Spring wildflowers. Parking available.
