Our family has taken part in both the kids and adults classes. We love the classes and community around the dojo. There is a strong aikido lineage with great teachers.
I started training with Eddie in 2003. I wanted to teach my daughter how to defend herself. I’ve trained with Eddie ever since. I started training at Bridgetown when it opened in 2010 and got my blackbelt there. I’ve learned a great deal from both Eddie and his father. My experience with Bridgetown is that it is a great place to train for kids, beginner adults and experienced adults. The atmosphere there is friendly and safe. The quality of instruction is excellent. I recommend the dojo frequently.
Sensei Eddie has been such a wonderful presence in my son's life. There was a tremendous amount of anxiety when he first started Aikido lessons three years ago and Eddie instantly made him (and me for that matter) feel at home. Eddie is a natural teacher and has a tremendous amount of empathy and patience. The positive changes that I've seen in my son's confidence, strength and technique are beyond measure and we will be forever grateful to Sensei Eddie.

Bridgetown is the place to learn Aikido in Portland. The instructors have created a culture centered on learning this martial art safely while having fun. My son Steve and I joined last summer. Since then I have seen such confidence in my son that I would whole heartedly recommend Bridgetown to any parent looking to make a big positive impact on their child.
