I've decided to no longer waste my time or money at this location after today's experience with Claudia (sales associate) and Christen (manager on duty). These two individuals were simply incompetent and did not clearly relay American Eagles policies. I have dealt with these employees before and have never felt welcome at this location by any team members- cold stares, rude comments, and inability to provide even mediocre costumer service.nnI often shop through the app or online in an effort to avoid AE's apparent lack of policy training of salespeople. I had purchased a pair of jeans through the app with my free jean reward, and paid full price for a shirt (the only two items from this particular in-app purchase). I decided to take the jeans (with all its tags, my packaging, and my proof of purchase) to this location. I arrived when the store opened (on a Thursday) and was not greeted- Christen was behind the counter facing my direction, but too busy to look up, so I got Claudia's attention. I explained that I wanted to make a return and receive back my free jean reward. Claudia said that would not be a problem, and she explained that I was also able to use the free jean reward in store that day, so I decided to try on a few pairs of jeans in hopes of using the free jean reward on an in-store pair, exchanging for the other pair. I decided I did not care for any of the jeans I tried on, and Claudia said she could help me return the jeans and receive back my free jeans credit (I actually had to remind her that the return bag behind the counter was mine). When Claudia typed in the number on the shipping label she informed me that it pulled up a different transaction (not mine) and that I must have brought in the wrong items. I had to pull out my app and show her that in fact she was wrong, and had to ask her to try again. That time it worked, what a surprise. She ran the return, with Christen standing right next to her the whole time, and Christen scanned her finger print to approve of the return. I obviously did not swipe a card or receive cash back, and was handed a receipt. I asked if my free jeans credit would be credited back to my account in the app, and Christen decided that was the best time (not earlier when she was approving the return) to inform me that by making a return instead of an exchange I would be forfeiting my free jeans reward... So why did Claudia violate this policy? And why was Christen not paying attention to her employee who was, in a way, stealing my reward. Christen said I would need to exchange these jeans with an item in the store, at which point I reminded the both of them of the stack of jeans next to them that I tried on and didn't like, and of the promise by Claudia (when I first approached the counter) that I could make a full return and receive back this credit. I asked that I receive the jeans back to return another time, and yet another transaction was ran. Clearly these two individuals do not know what they are doing, and showed lack of remorse for my problem that was caused by their lack of communication and misunderstanding of company policy.nnIf I receive anymore issues in an attempt to exchange these jeans (at a different location) I will no longer shop at any American Eagle store, including online.

I've been to this location several times in the past few months due to returns and gift cards from the holidays. My first time in the store I was greeted not by a person , but the strong smell of cigarette smoke. I made a comment to my friend and then was rudely greeted by who I assumed to be the manager Amanda . Embarrassed by what I said I kept quiet. Ever since then I have been treated unfairly when I go into the store. I've watched her make rude comments to her employees and stand around when there is a long line. I will not be coming back to this location while she is there . Staff is nice, management is terrible!!!!!
