Had a really great haircut with Andrew Boyd- he was able to squeeze me in last minute, was very professional and friendly, and gave me an amazing haircut (even better because he had my quarantine mess of hair to work with). I’ll definitely be back to see him, and would recommend him to anyone needing a haircut.

I have never been so disappointed in my hair. I told the stylist (Carolyn) multiple times that I would only like a trim and she agreed to only take 2 inches off. She took off way more than 2 inches. My hair was down to the middle of my back and now is at my shoulders. I asked for an ombré, she had my hair to the perfect color and then put a toner which she said would only blend it better and it darkened it by about 5 tones. Don’t recommend.

Weeks later I’m still stunned at a very poor experience here. I still hate how my haircut looks now, so I’m taking the opportunity to write about why. I gave express instructions on exactly what I wanted. A page long of instructions I typed out the day before, so I remembered what I needed the stylist to do to achieve the look I wanted. My hair is troublesome in both cut and especially color, so I’ve learned how best to approach it. The stylist (who shall remain nameless to protect her business) said she could do everything I wanted and that she didn’t have any questions after I read my instructions to her.nnShe ignored everything I asked for and actually did the exact opposite of what I said I wanted. I fixed the color myself by using a dark neutral product I knew would break through the brownish-red mousy hair my color came to be after a long wait between colorings, but I can’t get back the length I told her not to take off, or my money.nnIt’s very dark in her salon loft and I couldn’t see how the color came out. It looked dark, but it wasn’t until I got into natural light I saw it came out looking the same color-wise as I came in, and with now even shorter hair. You can’t see what’s being done when you’re intentionally misdirected from the mirror the whole time.nnListen to your customers to make them happy. I know best how my hair needs to be colored under the medical conditions I struggle with, which I did disclose. Two stars, only because I gave 1 star back for me not being of mind to really take a look at the color in natural light. I’m embarrassed to go out looking like this, and there’s nothing I can do but wait a long time until my hair grows back. I’ll color my own hair from now on. This person needs much more training and should not be touching anyone’s hair until she gets that training. I didn’t appreciate her taking another client while my hair was processing either. Salon Lofts is at fault too for taking in inexperienced stylists who can’t do hair. Take responsibility for who you let have a business there.
