I’m not sure what it is about campgrounds in or near Fort Wayne, Indiana but the two I encountered were inhospitable. While not as nasty as Johnny Appleseed (JAS), Indian Springs (IS) ended up being an exercise in futility.nnIt wasn’t bad at first. After my experience at JAS (see my review), I bought a one-person tent on Facebook Marketplace and took an über ride to IS. This was a Saturday and I paid for two nights, hoping that I would get some money deposited on Monday and I could move into a hotel.. Come Monday, no deposit, so I paid for another two days. Wednesday I packed up and “stealth camped” in a nearby clump of trees, and then Thursday afternoon I went back to the campground and paid for two more days.nnFriday afternoon one of the managers approached my tent and told me I had to leave for non-payment. I argued with her, telling her about my transactions, and that I had used the receipts for kindling. I really should have shown her my electronic PayPal statement but was in too much of a shock to consider it. I gave up and started packing. Within 20 minutes, three county sheriff’s deputies approached and said that the woman had called them to make certain that I left. Really? As one of them later told me, it was a waste of their time and that there were more important things they could be doing. The nice thing is that they gave me a ride to the north part of Fort Wayne, about 7 miles away. Which was great because über and Lyft didn’t have services in the immediate area.nnI am giving Indian Springs campground just two stars, one above Johnny Appleseed because the latter didn’t even let me stay there even one night.

The staff is excellent. Great rates for camping. A very family friendly campsite. Highly recommended

This was our first time in this campground, we did have an issue with the first assigned site but they quickly got us a site that worked perfect! Under some trees and plenty of space. Most of the seasonal campers there were nice (the man that stands with the water hose yelling at everyone cause his site is getting dusty was not a very nice man) we even made friends with the sites behind us! Will definitely camp there again, would have given 5 stars but the kids there need better supervision, some of them are aweful and vulgar.

Good campground. Bathhouse needs a little help. 2 showers, for the whole camp. Good fishing on some nice lakes. Friendly people, nice staff. Tent sites have a lot of trees. Nice swimming lake. Water slide wasn't running when we were here. Playground equipment needs a little help. Fixing broken boards, painting, greasing swings and merry-go-round. Honestly the pros outweigh the cons. Good camp with a few imperfections.

Seasonal sites are great and now we have paved drives, no more pot holes!
