Great American Rentals does not take care of their property! A downspout laid on the ground for months after I had asked the landlord to put it back up on 3 occasions he finally did when a potential buyer came along, they did not cut the grass as promised, I myself had to cut it for 3 years, the furnace is up high on a wall in a room with cathedral ceilings so there is no access & never had a furnace filter in it until the owner thought he may have a potential buyer & he put one in after 3 years, when the inspection was over he came & took it out, the electric bill is 500 dollars a month due to the location of the furnace & poor insulation. These people are not honest & asked me to lie to potential buyers about how much rent was & who cut the grass. They sold the building where I paid rent & never said a word so I had no place to put my rent & had to track the owner down physically since he changes his number & never gives it out to tenants
We rented a storefront from them. The hot water broke shortly after moving in and after 6 months of asking it to be fixed it was not. When we turned on the window unit the first day it didn't work. When I called the landlord he said tat it wasn't his responsibility. So I put my own brand new unit in and returned his broken one and he accused me of stealing the side vents from his old junk unit. The owner refused to give me a copy of my lease. They sent me a letter asking for my rent plus late fee AFTER they had cashed my check for rent that was on time. When I called to rectify the situation the owner screamed at me over the phone like a lunatic. The most unprofessional slumlords I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
