Blue Cliff Zen Center

The teacher and community of Blue Cliff Zen center provides supportive and effective instruction and practice of mindfulness and meditation. For new or seasoned practitioners I would highly recommend attending an event and/or a weekly sit with this group! I have felt and continue to feel a sense of ease and happiness during and after practicing.

Life changing and by far the best practical way of continuing and developing traditional Zen meditation and mindfulness practice. They have all the experience and compassion to support all levels, beliefs and backgrounds. Two thumbs and two big toes way up!!!

I can't say enough about this center and it's teacher, Shinkai Roshi. The offering is warm, relevant, and accessible. There's a variety of ways to practice including weekly meditation sessions, workshops, classes, retreats, and Zen yoga. I've enjoyed and benefited from every minute spent with this group. Highly recommend!

This is warm, welcoming community in the Rinzai zen tradition. Shinkai Roshi is an amazing teacher and hands-down one of the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met. He teaches grounding meditation techniques that are sorely needed in the frenetic, stressful pace of modern life. I live almost 1000 miles away from Eugene, but still came up for a 3-day intensive meditation retreat that was an incredible experience. Wish I could practice here regularly... If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

Blue Cliff Zen center has been an immense Blessing in my life. I experience a Peaceful Presence and am greatly enriched by the dharma teachings and the Spirit of Shinkai and the people who gather there.
