This place is unlike any other! Great people and amazing food. The Heidelberg Cafe baked the cake for our Marine Corps Birthday celebration this year and it was a huge hit! Do yourself and tastebuds a favor....visit the Heidelberg Cafe!
I got a lead on a unique German restaurant and grocery store the other day so I decided to stop by this weekend.nThe place was packed and chaotic when we arrived. It was filled with every sort of German stereotype—from Cuckoo clocks to German steins to the women in Dirndls.nOnce I found out where to order, I picked up the Weiswurst and the Currywurst. Both were tasty but the potato salad was on point. Filled with bacon, chives, and a touch of vinegar, it tasted like something my grandma used to make.nIf I’m in the area again, I’ll be sure to pick up some bread and baked goods.
Wow...this place...you'll need a full hour just to see the STUFF they have packed everywhere! It's a shop, as well as a cafe (the soft pretzel was excellent), so go for the food, the German food/trinkets/groceries, THEN go outside to see all of the murals in the buildings! Fun roadside stop!
