The park was beautiful and had lots of great trails to explore. The smaller lake was warm enough that many people were swimming. There were also great hidden places to find if you wanted to go exploring. Our camping spot was nice and fit our 36ft. RV well. The only downside was that we had neighbors with yappy dogs. We had heard that the dune vehicles could make the area very noisy but were not bothered at all. Overall it was a beautiful park that we would love to come back to.

Make sure you double check the size of your spot as many are small. Warm lakes walking distance. Oregon dunes walking distance. Trail around the nearby lake. The small size of the tent spots doesn’t help with the neighbors’ noise so plan accordingly. Shower were closed due to covid19 and flush toilets need to be cleaned more often (most likely because of covid19 too). You can buy firewood on site with card or cash using the auto machine. Note that many loops are closed for renovation

The park it self is nice enough but if you are coming for peace and quiet you will need to go somewhere else. It is quite obvious that the park is about cramming in as many people as possible. While you get the illusion of privacy with the foliage you will find that it is very easy to be a part of your neighbors conversation. Also getting into your camp site will be a chore as the roads in are very narrow and the parking pads are at a weird angle. This is definitely a park that you use as a hub to enjoy the surrounding area attachments.

Have stayed here many times over the years to hike in the dunes. Just spent 2 nights and it still is great.

Very crowded & SMALL campsites. The photos make it look more secluded but if it wasn't for social distancing protocol youd be sleeping maybe 5ft from the other campsites tent. Our campsite(#42) also had a TON of sand as you can see in the photo. Probably run off from the Dune but not something we were warned about or prepared for cquse it gets EVERYWHERE. I stepped in dog poop IN my campsite twice within the first 30 minutes of being there even though the rangers come and clean it cause COVID (although I expect thats bad owners fault.) One of the rangers stopped by and kind of rudely reminded us that we needed go leave in 30mins even when we were in the middle of packing and almost done and ready to go. Overall bad experience. Its nice to have bathrooms but not nice enough to be packed like Sardines.
