Great trail! You gain elevation quickly in the first mile. Then it levels out past the rimrocks! Definitely a worthy WINTER hike. Too hot, even October 3rd. Go when it's less than 70 degrees
I went on the hike later in the afternoon so we could catch the sunset. No one else was on the trail, very peaceful and such great views. It was in the mid 70's and dropping, plus a nice breeze at top. Majority of the hike is flat but getting to the top was the hard work. Hiking the trail any warmer probably wouldn't have been so nice.
