Ms. Gray was my mediator in a child support modification case. It was obvious she was more interested in being able to report a ‘win’ to the court that she settled the case instead of listening to me or my attorney. We told her there was a history of my former husband hiding assets and lying about income, which is in the court record, but she wouldn’t listen. She tried to convince me to agree to $21 a week in child support from my former husband and said she could ‘guarantee’ the most I’d get would be $23 a week. My attorney and I walked out of the mediation, and the court ended up setting child support at over seven times that amount. Imagine how much disservice this would have done to my children if I had allowed her to bully me into accepting her ‘guarantee.’
