This is a fishing park and that's about it. We visit often simply because it's a close area to fish. Personally, I only do ok fishing here. I have caught a decent amount of little bluegill there and a couple of little bass. Now I know I've heard of others catching some larger bass, northern pike, and catfish. As often as I go, I've yet to see anything too exciting come out of there though. Due to erosion, the lakes and the river are connected now so you do need a fishing license to fish here. It can be a bit crowded but if you come at the right time, you can secure a shady spot. I've also seen several people take fishing kayaks and little rowboats out. It's really beautiful there at sunset. You could hike around the lakes but it really isn't that kinda park. You'd be better off hiking at Whitewater.
Beautiful lakes! This place is no longer stocked since the beginning of 2020, so don't expect to catch much. This place is fished heavily! You're better off walking past the lake to the White Water River. This is easy access to that river, which is one of the cleanest river's in Ohio, and you can catch the bait at the lake next to it. That's why I give it 5 stars. There is flat heads in the White Water River! Also, you don't need to pay in the envelope since they stopped stocking it. You only need a fishing license. Overall I like this place for quick easy bait for catfishing. Most of the Bluegill are tiny, which is great bass bait! I managed to get a couple decent sized ones. Use a small #6 or #8 hook, small split shot, and a bobber. Fun place for kids because the little sunfish bite right away usually. Best time is the morning and right before sunset.
A great time to get out of the house, relax and catch fish.
Beautiful surroundings! The lakes are clean and its plenty big enough to have a spot to yourself.
Great place to launch my kayak and do some fishing
