I tried emailing and calling to cancel my account but no one responded. I was forced to go to the fitness center DURING A PANDEMIC to cancel my account. This is a health risk and poor business practice to force people to come in contact at this dirty gym to cancel the account. AND I WAS NOT REFUNDED THE AMOUNT I WAS CHARGED. THIS IS DISGUSTING AND PREDATORY BUSINESS PRACTICE. please beware that your account will be charged and they make you go through so many hoops without concern for public health or your safety.nnUPDATE: I contacted the email that they commented on this review only to tell me that they have no power to do anything because they are just social media managers and that each fitness club is privately owned. This is a classic marketing ploy to appear conscientious to customers when all they really care about is their bottom line even at the risk of your health and well-being.

I like this new location I transferred to. The mask and health and safety check is in place. I like the crowd o meter I can see how crowded it is and decide if I want to go or not even with it being kinda of crowded it still very spacious.

They claim to allow mail in cancellations but instructions are nowhere to be found on their website.nnAs a result, I was unable to cancel before being charged and still forced to go to the fitness club while I was trying to quarantine.nnPlanet fitness responded to my review saying that they wanted to rectify the situation, only to tell me that they couldn't do anything about it because each club is privately owned and they have no power over cancellations or refunds. So to clarify, they left a reply as a way to improve their image but did nothing AT ALL TO HELP.nnFor those who are wondering how to cancel your account via mail, please read the instructions below:nnA cancellation letter should include your name as it appears on your membership agreement, your intent to cancel, a physical signature, and a contact email/phone number in case your club has further questions. However, your cancellation needs to be PROCESSED BY THE 10th of the month in order to avoid the charge for the monthly fee due to auto drafting, as stated in the agreement.nnIn order to waive the annual fee when canceling your membership, you would have needed to cancel by the 25th of the month prior to when your annual fee was scheduled.nnNOTICE: Planet fitness on 177th opened back on September 2nd, but the deadline to cancel by mail was September 10th. And that's with sending the mail, and having them open and then hoping they process in time. So what if I was doing my due diligence and quarantining? Or if I had work? Or if I was out of state?

I love visiting this location. They have tons of machines and a new 360 station that takes it to another level.
