Tokyo Cafe (東京カフェ)

My girlfriend and I decided to stop by this place to eat. We ordered the New Mexico Starfish as an appetizer and were a little sceptical at first seeing as it was just jalapeno poppers with nice plating. It was not bad although it needed some sort of cheese or creamy texture to be great. We then ordered our entrees Which included a Unagi (Eel) Don, as well as the chicken katsu. The Don was not in a bowl which is odd for a Don as it literally means bowl also the eel did not taste as fresh as we would have liked. The katsu was dry near the edges and the Tonkatsu sauce tasted sort of like a certain steak sauce. We ordered the Black Sesame seed Mont Blanc which we are fairly sure was frozen then reheated as the cream on the top was hot, the whipped cream was frozen and the sponge cake was extremely dense. All in all a disappointing experience with the food but the staff was friendly.

From the outside it doesn't look like much but inside it nice and clean. Food was good. Only one person waiting on everyone though. I would for sure eat here again.

My preferred scene for Japanese food. Service is always prompt even when they have a full house. The service here is attentive. Prices are appropriate for the quality.

Wonderful service, was our anniversary place before the pandemic. Their salmon is the freshest I've ever had.
