Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! We love eating at the Coal House bistro on Arnold Avenue in point Pleasant. They give you huge portions of food that is to die for! This is one of my favorite places to take my girlfriend. Frank, one of the hosts, is very kind & accommodating. It’s a shame I can only give five stars. I would give it ten if I could!!!!!!nPS - if you like chicken, the Marsala and Francaise is delicious!!!nJoseph Zicchino DDS

After 25 years of Crohn's disease, I know what it is like to be sick from food. After cutting in to my scallops a strong smell of ammonia was obvious. The chef insisted they were fresh but in my 49 years and 11 months of life I never tasted fresh seafood that smelled like ammonia. I didn't eat them but was charged the $30. We paid our $226 and left. On the bright side, the waitress was amazing. Not impressed with the customer relations nor the fresh ammonia scallops.

This used to be my go-to when frequenting the shore, but when I ordered carry out tonight I was really disappointed. I always ordered the eggplant panini with a big house salad, this time I also got the bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was incredibly fresh tasting, as was the salad, as always—but I couldn’t even bite through the panini. The bread was very awkward, as if they took three very end slices of stale bread and stacked them on top of each other, just sloppy. The bread was impossible to eat through, even the toasts that came with the bruschetta. I was not impressed at all and regret spending money on it. Hard times are upon us and if I’m taking some of my money to enjoy a meal out, I expect it to at least be fully edible.
