Channel Marker Cafe

Channel Marker has always been our favorite dock and dine restaurant, however, the food has definitely gone downhill since Covid. Linguini and white clam sauce has always been my favorite dish due to its full bodied flavor and nice kick. Tonight two of us had to add considerable amounts of salt to the thin, watery broth in order to give it any flavor at all. So disappointing. Fortunately my husbands dish was too salty so he added some of his sauce to my dish to give it flavor. My daughter in laws's Zorba salad had no feta cheese or tomatoes. The steak sandwich her mother had was mostly bread on either end of the roll with a small steak in the middle. This breaks my heart because the quality of the food used to be top notch and I recommended to many friends and gave glowing reviews and posted pictures of theIt amazing entrees on my fb page. Perhaps they lost their chef who was great or they are just cutting corners due to Covid. We kept giving it another chance after they reopened for business but sad to say we' ll be looking for a new dock and dine restaurant.

Let me start off by saying the ambiance was great and the food was fantastic. I personally loved the swans that came to greet us as soon as we sat down. We were able to watch the boats go by and view the sunset. Unfortunately, the service did not match our expectations. We were greeted by an unfriendly hostess who seemed to be put off that we didn’t make a reservation. We thought it would be ok since we arrived at an early time but in turn, she reluctantly sat us at our table. We did not receive any bread upon waiting for our meal. We thought you had to ask to get bread but after seeing other customers arrive and get bread without asking, we realized it was poor treatment from the waitress. As any restaurant customer would, we expected our waters to be refilled but they were not. We were very put off by other customers getting better service from the hostess and waitress just because we didn’t make a reservation.

The food is always fantastic; and the Crab Cakes are the best. Great chef, and a great view! In spite of Covid, the restaurant has prevailed. See you next season!!

This place should be a gold mine, given it is only 1 of a few restaurants you can take your boat too. Unfortunately its anything but good. Ive been their 3 times and everytime their is an issue. How do you run out of bread on a Friday morning? Well... they did it. My plate was dirty and they always burn the bacon. I tried to go their today for breakfast, arrived at 10:30 and was told I could not eat cause I didn't have a reservation on a Sunday morning.

High quality food in a very nice atmosphere. Our server, Zach saw phenomenal , his service was beyond expectations.
