Mathis House a Victorian Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room

I had the opportunity of staying at this enchanting house for five nights. The owner and the staff at the Mathis House provide a unique combination of warm and friendly care with the service standards of five-star hotels. The magnificent breakfast in this historical Victorian house is a time travel experience; for a moment you are away from the reality outside of its walls.nThe rooms are immaculate arranged and clean. Despite of the Victorian atmosphere, the Mathis house facilitates the technology for those who need it. The location of this property is very convenient, I was walking distance from the river and other interesting places. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Wow!! Our stay at the Mathis house turned our standard visit to family into a little mini getaway. The house, room, and included breakfast could not be any more charming. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, furnished with all kinds of treasures. The free breakfast was a decadent affair of scones, hot dishes, coffee and of course tea. For the price, it was an absolute steal! Even though my parents live locally, I may book this for them just for a staycation. Plus the owner and staff are all lovely. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

We had our wedding reception here and I can't say enough wonderful things about Vicki, Gerri and the entire staff! They accommodated all of our requests and were attentive to every detail! The violin and piano player were marvelous and completed the entire package. It was a perfect evening and a perfect place for our family to celebrate our wedding! Thank you so much!!!!

Room was beautiful, little amenities were everywhere, there was no need to ask for anything. We were treated wonderfully by the owner and staff. The location is convenient to many local attractions such as restaurants and the beach. The tea service offered by the Mathis house is amazing! Great variety of teas and food. The scones and clotted cream alone are worth going for! Overall we had a terrific visit and felt very safe.

You feel like you stepped back in time. Stylish. Clean. Great history. Great Perks and great service. And fastest check in on history. Basically zero time. Like walking in to your own home.
