Fort Billingsport is a park along the Delaware River that is quite unknown unless you live in Paulsboro. Once the site of a American Revolution Fort & Historically the first government land ever purchased, there is not much indication of its past except for few foot markers. Tucked between 2 oil refineries the park offers views of the river & opportunities for nice picnic.

Great big playground, but only go when refinery closed for a holiday.n**Update- we went again- its a great park, but don't go the fumes from the refinery are strong and it is noisy, I think because we had gone on July 4th it was much quieter and less smelly.nAlso the refinery was pumping water from a container area right into the field at the park. I'm sure its just rain water- but I wasn't comfortable with my kids walking thru it to see the water.nStick with red bank battle field, no smells or noise, just gets crowded**

Historical landmark in our backyard. Peaceful. Very nicely maintained playground. Gate access to the rivers edge has been padlocked.

Great place to take your children. You can sit by the river and watch airplanes and huge ships. Lots of safe play ground equipment for the kids. A pavilion as well. No frills so pack your picnic.
