Dock Mike's Pancake House

The food was good but very, very pricey. Everything is ala carte....$5 coffee, $4 homefries $3 toast, $3 bottled water, $2.50 for 3 slices of tomato. Breakfast for 5 was $185. When we questioned why we were charged so much they told us toast and home fries were either or, but we got charged for both and they didn't adjust the bill. There are other places to go for breakfast, so that's what we will do from now on.

The biscuit breakfast sandwich was the BEST I've ever had. I want Mike's recipe. Incredibly delicious breakfast. You won't be disappointed.

Dock Mikes has been a tradition of our family as long as I can remember. In my 22 years my family has come to Sea Isle City almost every summer and gone to Dock Mike’s just as often. We’ve had family celebrations like my moms 50th surprise birthday and countless birthdays with candles stuck into pancakes. I’ve graduated from the kids menu rainbow pancakes to ordering off the “regular” menu. Our family has so many happy memories of Dock Mikes and we’ll be sure to come back every summer.

Awful, awful experience! We drove 45 minutes to get there-it was for our daughter’s birthday. Other than one other table, we were the only customers there. We ordered 1 pancake, 1 waffle, 1 omelette and another egg dish. There were 4 of us. After 30 minutes of waiting our server comes out of the kitchen with the omelette, makes it halfway to our table and then takes the plate back to the kitchen where it stayed for another 5 minutes. Server brings the plate out and a few minutes later brings out the 2nd order which was wrong. Pancakes instead of waffles. Then she brings the 3rd order which was also wrong-it was French toast instead of pancakes. We politely ask our server what the problem was with our orders and she couldn’t say, so we asked to speak to the person in charge. This man comes walking aggressively to our table and without introducing himself, gruffly asks “what’s the problem.” Eventually, he claimed to be the owner. He was rude, defensive, he argued with us and put 100% of the blame on our young server, threatening to fire her! (Poor girl was in tears). He offered no apology or compensation only excuses and an attitude, so we got up and left. We went to the Ugly Mug in Cape May where we had a wonderful meal and fantastic service!nnDock Mike’s delivered terrible service and greatly overpriced food btw, which we never got to taste and never will. We recommend people stay away and eat somewhere else. I don’t understand how an owner with such horrible customer relations and terrible service could still be in business. First time here. The hot chocolate tastes like dishwater and the coffee tasted at least a day old. My husband’s eggs Benedict was so-so however, the avocado bagel Benedict was not edible. The avocado mash tasted like it had been sitting for days and soaked in lemon juice. We were never asked how the meal was after it came out. When brought to the waiter/hosts attention, his response was, “Heh, guess maybe they put to much lemon in it, it’s $46.58“nNeedless to say we won’t be returning.
