The Cove Restaurant & Seaside Deck

Well we have been coming to this place for years on our trips to Cape May but will never return! The food has always been blah and pricey but the view was nice and the owner was nice, or so we thought! We headed there after we checked out of our house to have a nice final breakfast at the beach. We have a 10 month old with very pale skin, so I asked the owner who sat us, if we could put up the umbrella. He said no problem and put it up for us and gave us menus. As we were starting to sit down an angry employee comes over and jumps on our picnic table, right next to my 2 Year old, and screams at us over the umbrella being up, and proceeds to put it down. I told him that the owner had put it up for us after I asked if it was okay. There were many umbrellas up at the other tables, and it wasn’t anymore windy then normal for beach. He said he doesn’t care it can’t be up and we can just leave. What kind of service is that? I went in to ask the owner and his response was “I’ll have to ask my brother”, then a waitress just sitting inside started screaming that we can’t have it up. So we walked out and got in the car to leave. Then the crazed employee was standing in the middle of everyone outside eating and giving us the middle finger. Then he comes to our car windows yelling again about taking down umbrellas. And the owner did nothing and said nothing about his employees acting this way to customers. He just lost a lot of business! All the people I know that go there will no be returning. Don’t bother going there, there’s nicer places in Cape May with nice friendly staff!!

Over priced. Convenient on the beach. However food is not that great. Ham and cheese sandwich had one slice of ham in it. Chicken tenders weren't that great.nHowever, wait staff was friendly and good service. Easy parking too being that it had it's own parking lot.

This restaurant is very convenient as it sits right next to the beach. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable and it's nice hearing the waves as you dine. The constant flow of traffic unloading their stuff does take a way a little of the ambience.

I a very nice place. I have fond memories dining with my wife. It's too bad the Cove is not open for dinner. The food is good, the servers are polite , and the view is great especially the lighthouse in the distance.
