Just like everyone else, I was a part of Giant Fitness which closed down. I received an email from Giant explaining they’re closing down, they instructed us to contact Crunch fitness immediately. I did, I have multiple emails from a “manager” at crunch where they denied knowledge of charging me. I was then told I’d be notified if I’d ever be charged. There was NO notification, I just happened to be checking my account when I noticed that I didn’t recognize a charge.nI then called the gym to speak with someone and was told I had to either PHYSICALLY come in from 1030-6 or go to the post office and PAY for a certified letter to cancel a membership I never asked for.nHere’s my issue, there’s still a pandemic, you don’t know what precautions people are taking or where people aren’t comfortable going. It’s not fair to first, not provide any notification of charges and second, make people either pay or walk into a gym to cancel. That’s not fair or safe. I’ve prided myself in being cautious throughout this pandemic and I don’t feel it’s fair that I have to now either spend additional money and go inside of a crowded post office or drive all the way to a gym where I’m not comfortable going just yet.nI’ve read some of the responses from the owner to other reviewers and I just think the professionalismnIs lacking. Many of us have emails from the “manager” there who provided us with inaccurate information regarding notification and billing. I’ve checked my emails and even did a search by name to see if I was ever notified and I wasn’t.nWhy would people want to come in and try your gym AFTER you’ve started off on such a bad foot? Why would we want to do business with you? This was shady, there’s no other way to put it. We don’t want to give your gym a try. This is why you’re asking people to come in to cancel their fraudulent membership, sonYou can try and coax them into staying. However, we aren’t happy with your business practices, why would we go to you? I will join edge fitness when I feel comfortable rather than to ever do business with crunch. This was distasteful and you guys LIED!

I was a member at Delran Giant fitness and they transferred my membership to Crunch and I was not notified by either Giant or Crunch. When I called Crunch to cancel they told me I have to come in and can’t cancel over the phone. Keep in mind we are in a pandemic. When I came to cancel the girl at the counter was rude and refused to return the amount I was billed. When I asked why I should be charged a $29 maintenance fee plus 2 months of membership fee for a gym I’ve never stepped foot in her response was “it is what it is”. I can’t imagine anyone would want to workout in a gym with such poor management/customer service.

Crunch Gym uses sleazy, unprofessional business practices to extort their community and their customers.nnThey bought the memberships of a rival in town gym (Giant Fitness) that closed down due to the pandemic. Once I found out my membership from Giant was being transferred to Crunch, I (along with a few close friends) called and sent emails to try and cancel it because I had no intention of going to Crunch at all in the future. I was denied, told my account was put on hold, and that I would not be charged until I was notified that my account had been active again. Fast forward two months, my account was charged and I was not notified.nnI tried to call and cancel my membership multiple times, but was told I had to physically come into the gym during the pandemic and cancel my membership in person. Once I finally did this, they still would not refund me for a membership I did not agree to, nor was I notified I was going to be charged.nnThe fact that many people in our community, according to these reviews, have gone through the same thing is upsetting to say the least. Congrats on the quick buck, Crunch.

Membership was transferred from Giant to Crunch. BEFORE they reopened I mailed a certified letter in JUNE to them to cancel my membership. They never picked up their mail. I then HAND delivered it to the front desk, emailed the manager with an image of the post mark that I want my membership cancelled. I was STILL CHARGED $21.33 even though my old membership at Giant was $10.65 a month. Now I have to go in again for a second time because the manager has not returned my calls or emails. The facility is not 24/7 (which is why I joined Giant), yet somehow they can charge me for limited hours.

It's well taken care of by the staff. For the most part, the equipment is clean. As they say, make sure you wipe before and after you use the equipment.
