It was a seamless process, sales rep was straightforward explained and answered any questions; at the end of the night we walked out with a vehicle. The only thing I was disappointed with was the car’s condition. It was not cleaned at all, and the brake light was out. Because we left late, near closing, we didn’t have time to inspect the car, didn’t think we needed to. We drove an hour in a half home with a busted headlight, that was very dangerous luckily we weren’t pulled over. So, in closing pretty ,upset at having to spend money to detail and change a brake light, but overall service was good, the finance rep was great as well.

I bought my car in July. 2017 Ford Explorer for nearly $30K. Not only did my salesman have one of the worst ‘I really don’t want to be here right now and you just ruined my day by showing up’ attitudes, but my thirty thousand dollar car didn’t have working air conditioning, a problem I wasn’t aware of until I left the lot. Fine, I’ll take it back! Remember, this was in July. It is now September and my air conditioner still hasn’t been fixed. CarMax claims they do not pre-inspect or recondition any of the cars they recieve, meaning that in my case, they were aware the air conditioning didn’t work, it’s just not something they cared about because no one had bought the car yet. Needless to say I’ve gone pretty much all summer since I bought the car without a working AC, Carmax never calls me about the repair despite me constantly calling and asking about the repair.nnTheir excuse? We don’t have the part. ‘It’s on a National Back Order’. I go into AutoZone, tell them what the mechanics said, and the manager looked me in the eyes and said ‘they’re lying to you, I can have the part here by tomorrow’.nnNever buying a car from them again. It’s a joke.nnThe two stars is because the woman who handled all of the paperwork and legal aspects of the transaction was a wonderful lady and a great help.

Online appraisal was easy. Visited Maple Shade NJ per online scheduled appointment . My wife and I both drove 65 miles with 2 vehicles. We met 3 persons: sales rep, mechanics/inspector, business accounting in 45 min duration. They were all friendly and professional with their tasks. Our 2011 Honda was offered exactly matched the online appraisal. We left Maple Shade with a bank check less than an hour. I am confident CarMax can pay better price and no hassle as compared to third party.

I was cheated! I had sold my car a few years ago at CarMax and the experience was relatively painless and smooth. When I decided to purchase a used car this year, I specifically searched for the car I was looking for at CarMax based on my earlier experience. I found a 2017 Honda Pilot Touring AWD at a different CarMax location and had it shipped to the Maple Shade location by paying a $200 fee. I had loved the car, so my mind was made up to get it shipped and then complete the purchase at the Maple Shade, NJ location.nnHowever, when I went to test drive and purchase the car, I found out that the vehicle was a 2WD!!! Upon explaining the situation to the salesperson that I was working with, they asked me to contact the online number since they did not have the power to refund my money back. When I called the online number, they transferred me back to the store and that has happened multiple times. I did not get the vehicle of my choice and my transfer fee is also lost.nnSTAY AWAY FROM CARMAX!!!

I had my car shipped from MD for $99, that alone to me was worth it. Especially because you aren’t locked into a car you shipped. I was very specifically looking for this car, down to the trim and color, so when I saw it I new I had to act quickly. AND it was only one year old with under 15,000 on it. Honestly it was a steal. Took about seven days for it to get here and Tommy was my salesperson. He was absolutely fantastic working with me from start to finish. He was kind, answered all my questions and walked me through every step as this was my first car purchase alone. I would recommend trying to get him during your visit! The only issue I had was the business office messed up my address and had to reprint paperwork after already waiting 45 minutes to speak with them. Otherwise overall great experience and I am happy to be apart of the Carmax community!
