Glade Top Trail National Scenic Byway

Lovely place for scenery. You can hike for miles, or simply drive from lookout to lookout. Places available to picnic, including a point with restrooms, grills, and an outdoor auditorium facing a grand, sweeping view.

This place is a hidden gem. Beautiful any time of year, fall is the most desirable time to go. The main attraction is a species of tree that is native to a relatively small range in the Southern Missouri, North Arkansas Ozark mtns that literally changes every color of fall foliage you can imagine including purple and pink. The periodically cleared glades and glens allow you to look back hundreds of feet down mountainsides through the tall oak trees to see this colorful display. It's a 28-mile dirt road and also includes long-distance scenic overlooks. Just go if it's your thing, it's awesome.

A great place to take a drive, hike, view some beautiful Missouri scenery. Miles of road to travel and several places to stop and have a picnic. Enjoy 1.5million acres of Missouri scenery when visiting.
