My sister and I stopped at this lovely restaurant earlier today while on a roadtrip through the Dakota’s. While the name of the restaurant intrigued me, it wasn’t until I walked inside and saw all the authentic items around that I fell in love. As someone who appreciates history, you can feel the rich Homesteader/North Dakota culture inside. The food was phenomenal and service top notch. The waitress (I can’t remember her name) was extremely attentive and didn’t skip a beat. We also got to meet the owner Dean who welcomed us like we were family and gave a little background on the restaurant. I have never met such a warm restaurant owner like Dean and will never forget his gift to the two strangers just stopping by for a hot meal on a cold night. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The atmosphere is great. Their gravy however is just t.e.r.r.i.b.l.e. The coffee tastes like water, they don't have anything stronger. Everything else I've ordered here has been fantastic, I just have to avoid gravy even though that's my favorite breakfast item for my eggs and hash browns. It's a shame because I love the atmosphere.
Dean and his crew catered my daughters wedding this past weekend. They did an amazing job. I got alot of comments on how delicious the food was and how professional they all were. Great job Homesteaders, appreciate all that you did.
Great food. Friendly waitresses. And a good place to visit a friend without feeling rushed or pushed out the door. Me and my friend visited about our whole summer. About an hour and the pictures passed between us made my day.
We had a small gathering after a funeral. They were very accommodating and the food was very good. We were offered the lunch menu. The rest of the restaurant had very few people as I don't think they were fully open because of covid lockdowns.
