I've been wanting to eat here for quite some time and finally stopped in. Actually for dinner and then brunch the next day. Both meals exceeded my expectations with fork tender filets and risotto prepared perfectly. Excellent atmosphere and the owner and wait staff are a cut above. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you're looking for a really great meal.

I wanted to love this place, but I couldn't. Maybe I don't understandnthe food culture in Joplin because I am an out of towner, but the highnrating for this place perplexes me. The venue is nice, but the food and service for this restaurant is lacking. I got the chicken and waffles, for $14 I was expecting something above average at least. The chicken had no flavor and was all grease, I could make better at home. The service was lacking too, I felt an attitude, like I was bothering them. On top of that , the waitstaff is right next to you as you pay, very awkward. I usually tip well, but this time I felt cheated out of an experience. Maybe they had an off day? I don't know. Sorry, but this place is a miss for me, definitely won't be returning.

The food was fine, good enough that I would have returned because of it. However, the lady who sat my group (Liz), was immediately judgmental. She acted as though we did not belong there, tried to use the wait time to talk us out of staying. Told her we would wait anyway, she said we could go wait outside. Did not take our name or anything to be called to be sat. After sitting outside for 30 minutes, a member of our party went inside to check if we could be sat yet. Liz rolled her eyes at him and told him that she could seat us but that we could only have drinks and not food yet. Out of the 3 tables she could have sat us at she chose one that was back in a dark corner. Then let us sit there for longer than necessary before coming to ask what we wanted to drink. I spent almost $100 for subpar service and to be viewed as less than deserving of attention. And thus the 2 stars.
