Genesis in Independence Missouri:nnThe space is nice and cardio equipment is great. However, for the amount per month that is charged to its members, there is no reason that the machines and weights should be old, janky, and rusted. I understand old people who go in there to walk and swim are your base customers, but cmon. Stop neglecting those of us who lift.

Genesis Health Club is Awesome!! I've been a member for 2 weeks so far. I have been welcomed by all the staff. I'm on a massive weight loss journey from 410 to 215lbs. Angie, one of the personal trainers has set me up on a starting strength training and cardio training program. I lost 60lbs (currently 355) on my own before I started with Genesis. So I'm really looking forward to see what lies ahead. I am very determined and I know that with the help of Genesis Health Club and my doctor I will succeed.

The facilities and equipment are great. Genesis locations have everything you need to reach your fitness goals. You can access multiple locations, and have all the equipment needed to keep workouts constantly evolving.

When I signed the initial contract, I specifically asked for a 6-month contract because I was moving out to a different state after 6 months. They agreed to it and I signed the contract. However, later I found out that the contract I signed was for 1 year even though the sales agent told me it was only for 6 months. They made me pay for the entire year even after talking to so many customer representatives.nFinally, after a year my membership was suppose to end in August, and I made sure with a customer service representative through email and phone to not roll me month to month. They agreed to cancel my membership in August. However, I was charged again in September. I emailed and called them so many times after that and never received a response. Today they tell me that I was charged for September because they didn't charge me for the month of May because the gym was closed. Genesis was closed for approx 2-3 months due to COVID and they still charged their customers.nFrom providing false information to get me signed to promising me that I won't be charged after August 2020 but still charging me for September, it's been a horrible experience from the beginning to the end.
