Visiting in town and needed a decent place to eat. Hotel staff all agreed that Mel's was the best place for breakfast and lunch. I was not disappointed. When I opened the diner's door ,I was immediately hit with an aroma that reminded me of home. What a wonderful aroma for freshly cooked food came out to greet me. Other patrons and staff immediately made me feel at home. Lunch specials had a choice of three items, I choose the meat loaf and was not disappointed. It was juicy and very flavorful. Sides were also very good. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.

Mel's Diner is AMAZING, We go their almost weekly if we are able too. They are an amazing group of people and the food is great and reasonable priced.. if you love a nice warm meal in a very warm home environment they are the place.

Ate breakfast here a few weeks ago, and it was about the best breakfast I have ever had!. Food cooked perfectly with large portions and great price. And huge pancakes. Service was great, my coffee cup was never less than half full. And huge pancakes. Bacon was nice and crispy. And huge pancakes. Did I mention the pancakes. It was a great place.

Mels is definitely a great place to eat! The hospitality and service are excellent! There seemed to be a number of guests who are obviously regular customers as they were addressed by name as they came through the door. This place has a good family feel and good food too, can't beat it!

Best run restaurant in Jefferson City, MO. The owners and staff are great. Very attentive to their patrons which is why they have so many repeat customers, myself and fiance included. Food is great with so many options. Best customer service hands down! Always busy but they operate like a well oiled machine. You wont be disappointed.
