Used to be a restaurant called jumping catfish.nI don’t know how a mosque can be put where pork was once served. Which honestly seems sacrilegious, but the Islamic religion is a beautiful religion and the hijab is a very beautiful piece. I use to love passing by the mosque because honestly it used to make me feel safe ud83dude0a then the fence was builtnnThey built a fence along the property line, so no one can use the parking lot. Which I mean it’s the mosque property, but what ever happened to looking out for the community, or meeting members of the community?nnThere’s few people that do use that due to safety concerns; because in the winter that hill is dangerous to walk on due to cars sliding down or not making it up. I’ve almost been hit by a car on that hill, and almost slipped down the hill and this neighborhood is basically one way in and one way out. That parking lot has been a blessing, but with the fence put up it’s unsettling to think of walking on that street while there is snow, and not to mention the deer that live close to the woods like to go down to the parking lot and blocks an escape for the deernnI just feel when you build a fence like that it makes people stop looking out for there neighbors, even when the congregation would park in peoples drive way which they never ever complained about to anyone, even when the street would be full of cars they never complained, but you build a fence because people walk in the parking lot.nnBut I do love the location. It’s a beautiful mosque. I used to feel safe passing by because Islam, Judaism, and Christianity have the same god, but we just pray different.nnThe fence tells me that I am not welcome at all

I love the addition of the fence, since it keeps our kids safe as they are playing and adds a level of safety for the masjid attendees. I always feel so welcomed and at home here. There is always a community event happening, children running around smiling and lectures for me to attend to remember the One who created me. :)

One of my favorite mosques to attend in KC. The community is so welcoming and diverse. I love being here at night, when the crickets are chirping and people are sleeping to remember my lord.

When I drive by this location at night, I’m greeted with shady looking vehicles in the parking lot. And people coming and going at all hours of the night.nIt wasn’t like this before the mosque was put up here.nnDuring the day it’s fine, but this place takes a 180 at night.nThey put in a fence, I guess to give the drug dealers privacy when they sell?
