If you really want to learn martial arts this is the place to go in the northland. Wither your young or old they can help anyone in this journey. It is a perfect activity for families! Adults really need to look at this as it will really push you mentally as well as physically. I have never sweated this much without lifting weights. It is truly a great way to get your body and mind centered. It is also super addicting and Mr. Schee and Mrs. Miller teach it because they love it.
This place is great and can’t recommend enough for all ages.nnThis isn’t just a martial arts school. Their atmosphere, philosophy and approach to training is focused not just on karate skills but also improving physical health, self confidence and personal discipline. They focus and reinforce the self defense and self improvement & empowerment aspect of the art rather than just learning “combat sport” techniques.nnThey provide focused tailored approaches depending on age and skill levels - from 5yrs to 50+.nnThey also do an especially amazing job with kids, instilling confidence, discipline and respect in a positive and effective manner. It’s very obvious they take pride in using karate to help kids be confident, empowered and disciplined to be the best they can be in all areas of life. I’ve noticed a tremendous improvement with my child in the short amount of time we’ve been training here.nnIf you are an adult looking for self betterment by learning a new skill & philosophy or looking for a place to help your child grow by increasing self confidence and learning how to be more respectful and disciplined, this is DEFINITELY the place for you!
A well balanced school... The attention to detail, and engagement with students is second to none. Students learn honesty, courtesy, respect and discipline, while at the same time actual real world application of self defense. Thank you AKKA Northland for your continued professionalism.

The instructors are fantastic especially with the kids! The growth and positive change we’ve seen in our daughter over the past two years through their instruction and support has been phenomenal. I joined a short time ago myself and am so glad I did. The classes are always different, and it is such a positive and family atmosphere. We can’t say enough about them!
