We had a great experience with renting a shelter a few years ago! — The only reason I am giving this two stars!nnMy reason for not recommending WYCO Park and Rec has everything to do with Mark Rogers at Eisenhower and Olijoel Sheppard over the sports department.nnRepeatedly calling games but not calling the ones that need to be called (baseball when my son and another player almost passed out in 105 degree heat index, we as a team had to forfeit in the end of a game because they wouldn’t call it), when they didn’t bring the machine for machine pitch until the last 1 or 2 practices? When they decide to tell a parent instead of the coaches about rescheduled games, when they won’t take accountability between the two of them and play the “he said, he said” game. When they allow children on teams that are well over the age of the teams that are suppose to be playing (example: 2nd/3rd grade football and the kids were as tall as me, 5’5”). When they allow flags for football that even the coach of the team said were harder to pull off. When we were scheduled to practice basketball at a school gym and more than 3 times that wasn’t unlocked when the entire team showed to practice and we had to send everyone home (we would have practiced basketball outside but it was snowing).nnMy personal favorite: When Mark said “We have enough coaches, we don’t need you”nnI know for a fact they need coaches and have the last 2 years we have been working FOR FREE to help the kids. If a coach doesn’t sign up they will try to pass it off to a parent at first practice or Sheppard ends up coaching the team(s).nnSometimes you get a bad batch of parents who run their mouths but don’t want to start their own team and instead run straight to these two without letting you sort out the issues but these two will make sure the blame is on you as the coach.
