Very beautiful park location. The statue of the Native American is beautifully done, and signifies the noble characteristics of the tribes that lived, not only in that area, but all over the New World. The place was well kept, clean, peaceful and quiet. Nice walking paths, beautiful waters, and amazing art. Even the bridge across the water where you could go to the base of the statue was incredible. Will go there every time I visit Wichita.
Love this city landmark. Has wonderful information about the Indian heritage. The scenery down by the river is absolutely phenomenal. during the winter at 9 p.m they light the fire barrels.nAccess to the river to ride canoes, paddle boats, fishing, or just a nice moment of silence to clear your head.
Probably one of the absolute best outdoor attractions in Wichita. The working effort that's been put into The keeper of the plains it's beautiful and shows a lot of thought and attention to detail. Of course the absolute best part about it is when they light the torches every night. Going in the winter when it's cold is so incredible. The flames will keep you so warm that you don't even need to wear a coat even if the temperature is below freezing. Warning though, don't get too close in the summer. You might just end up melting.
Definitely worth the visit while in Wichita. Walk the linear park and see what other surprises await. Pay honor to the fallen heroes of Kansas just south as the arrow flies along the path. And don't forget to find the troll..
You know what it is. I've been her, doing many things through the years. I've even cleans it up and picked up yeah around it. I do my best to walk 3 or more miles around the Keeper most evenings. I hope to see you down there!
