My puppy loves this place! We noticed she was struggling with her dog social skills, but I didn't want her learning bad habits or getting fearful or aggressive. Its hard when you're not with your pup all day to know what's happening. I can say they do a great job! My puppy has become better with having her paws touched, comfortable with new and moving surfaces (which will set her up for success in agility later), good with other dogs, and has learned a lot from the clever canines club. Yes, its a little pricey here compared to other places. But, you dog will become a better dog from the exercises and experiences here. Totally worth it.
Best Decision I’ve Ever Made!nOur family adopted our two month old Anatolian Shepherd Mix quarantine puppy in March. Once Winslow turned five months, we saw the need for socialization and training to help with typical behavioral issues. When I first contacted Chisholm Creek Pet Resort in June, they were welcoming, personable, and professional. I explained what I needed and they gave me guidance and recommendations on crate training, biting and chewing, leash and harness options, etc. They told me about day camp and how most people choose to send their dog to day camp to socialize with other dogs, exercise, and burn pent up energy that can cause behavioral problems. Once they told me that Winslow would get to run on 10 acres of land with a pond, sand pit, a puppy pool, agility equipment, room to fetch toys, and shaded trees; I was sold! There was absolutely no pressure to enroll him in day camp or training. The prices and the opportunities for Winslow were just too good to pass up. I enrolled Winslow in the basic and advanced training class bundle. They sent me a questionnaire that asked in detail questions about him. Then they scheduled a time for me to bring him for all day day camp so they could take the time to evaluate him before they put him with other dogs. Based on his evaluation, they hand picked the perfect group of dogs for him to be with while he is at day camp. After his first day at day camp to be evaluated, we are able to take him Monday through Friday for full day or half day without a scheduled appointment. We’ve taken him 1-2 times a week since he was 4 1/2 months and he loves it! He just graduated from basic training class and Ms. Angelina our trainer was fantastic. We learned so much from her and she was so kind, caring, and extremely helpful. Anytime we have a question, the trainers are extremely helpful and very willing to help. If they don’t know the answer, they do whatever they can to find an answer for us and get back to us either within the hour or the same day. It has made the biggest difference in our lives and in Winslow’s life. He is so much more confident, lively, calm, and affectionate. He is much more comfortable around people and other dogs. When we start driving in the direction of “The Creek”, he gets so excited and he can’t wait to get out of the car. He especially loves Ms. Mercedes and Ms. Vanessa because they give him belly rubs. That said, every staff member is incredible. Walking into the resort, you don’t feel like you’re just another customer. They have gotten to know me and Winslow despite the fact that they see hundreds of faces and dogs everyday. I would recommend Chisholm Creek Pet Resort to everyone! I find comfort in knowing that they treat Winslow as if he were their dog.
Love the staff here and how well they care for my dogs! Especially the fact that they are one of the few pet hospitals in the DFW area that are 24/7! My pups go here for grooming, boarding, health and everything else! You cannot go wrong with Chisholm Creek!
Went in with my leash reactive/aggressive dog. Called and got an appointment very quickly. At the session, I learned really good tools to continue teaching my dog and to correct his leash reaction. I saw improvement and hope immediately. I have been so nervous to walk and bring my dog anywhere so with this new confidence and tools hopefully we can have a well mannered dog soon!
We've used Chisholm Creek for years. In fact our first GSP came from them. They're staff and facilities are ultra professional! We always feel comfortable leaving our Mable there for kenneling when needed. This past spring we took her there to work with Beth the head trainer and Beth and her staff did wonders with our 1year old puppy! She is now fully trained and disciplined. Life has become so much better for Mable and her owners lol. Beth not only trained our puppy but she also trained us! Every follow up session has been a learning experience for us and we love it.
