The case manager and head nurse Tara who were in charge of my uncle were absolutely awful to my family. Tara showed no compassion whatsoever for my family or my uncle. She should find another career because it is evident that she is not fit for the nursing field. My uncle had a massive stroke and is about to pass away. He is getting ready to switch to Hospice care. We were told that because of his condition they would allow three family members at a time to see him. Just like with most families, my uncle has many people who love him and want to see him before it is his time to pass. About halfway through the day they told my family that we had switched out too many times and would not let anyone else in to see him. They kicked my family out of the hospital completely. I understand precautions must be taken with the COVID pandemic, but also where is the compassion for people about to lose a loved one? Would not recommend this hospital to ANYONE. Don’t bring your loved ones here!

I must say it is a very uneasy feeling when you are taken to an ER and Greated with a Charge Nurse ( MARIO ) whom lacks total Empathy! To think to yourself when your just trying to catch your breath. " My life is in this man's hands" Very scary. THIS MAN NEEDS EMPATHY CLASSES OR FIND ANOTHER CAREER. If it wasn't for the rest of the staff this would have been a nightmare to my already nightmare. Everyone else From Doc to Resp therapist were wonderful made up for the first encounter. Thank you guys. As I lay in My own bed tonight thinking of my experience, and breathing on my own. I say a prayer for all of you, yes including Mario. Thank you and God bless.

I left a google review about this hospital weeks ago describing how the nursing staff on the neurology floor was extremely rude with my family and myself. My uncle had a massive stroke and was days away from passing away. My uncle has countless people who loved him and wanted the chance to say goodbye. Tara the head nurse did not allow all of his family members to see him and around noon had my family kicked out of the waiting room entirely. I left a google review and got a response that they were “sorry” about my experience and to please e mail them to share more. I emailed Bonnie about what happened. She said that my info was given to administration l. They have not tried to contact me once. My uncle passed away ALONE that Friday and numerous people who loved him did not get to say goodbye. Thanks for all your help Lovelace!!!!

Front door greeter couldn’t have been less empathetic. Seriously- Where did they find this person? I dropped off a family member for major surgery and this person repeatedly tried to hurry up our goodbyes, even trying to shoo me out the door! “Oh my gosh, You’ve already said goodbye!” they laugh and mockingly sneered at me. Literally I was just standing at the entrance saying goodbye to my loved one who I can’t be with and won’t see for the next 24 hrs after they undergo a major procedure. Excuse me, but I myself am a health care professional at another major local hospital and am on the “other side” of patient care every single day of my career and this is NO WAY to treat family members who are already having a difficult time not being able to be with their loved ones due to visitation restrictions because of COVID. This was our first time here and what a terrible first impression!! Never encountered someone so blatantly rude and condescending to patients and their family in all my years working in health care! People like that frankly DON’T belong in a hospital! Lovelace, screen your greeters better and get them some empathy training.

I have written two reviews about this disgrace of a hospital and here is a third. My uncle was unfortunately put in Lovelace medical center about two months ago after a major stroke. Long story short not only was he given SUBPAR care, denied fluids (by mouth OR IV), but even when he reached the end of life stage our family was treated absolutely terribly. Most specifically by Tara the head nurse on the neurological unit and my uncles case manager. I spoke with a “patient advocate” several times to discuss my concerns about how the nurses were extremely rude to my family and not giving my uncle adequate care- the room was FILTHY by the way. And today I received a letter in the mail as an “apology” from the manager of risk assessment. Vicky expressed that the directors of the neurological unit were “sorry” for the miscommunication and the way my family was treated. But of course they are much too busy to pick up the phone and apologize. DO NOT take your loved ones here! As a medical professional myself I know that Lovelace is a subpar hospital with undereducated staff and poor administration. I can see that many others have had similar experiences to mine- WHEN IS ADMINISTRATION GOING TO STEP IN HERE?!? Completely UNACCEPTABLE.
