Updated to 5 stars. Went again today. Helpful staff. I purchased something for my wife and daughter (came back after initially leaving). The selection here is amazing, something for everyone

After an experience I had in attempting to return an item that was purchased in November and gifted for Christmas I was upset and mystified at Magnolia Lane's return policy. After 30 days, despite having the original receipt, you cannot return. If it's a sale item, it's non-returnable. I asked the sales woman, "What does one do if it's a Christmas gift? The recipient cannot return it if it's not to her/his liking?" She answered, "You shouldn't shop so early for Christmas." Obviously this young lady was a bubble head and seeking help from the owner resulted in similar results (albeit not as stupid a conversation). I vowed to never shop at Magnolia Lane again. But I have many times because the items are unique, The District is a lovely holiday place to shop, and occasionally you can purchase the item for the actual value. I emphasize occasionally. The sales woman, after each purchase, flatly relays the owner's rules for returns and I nod, yup, yup, believe you me I know. It's a mystery to me how a specialized shop such as this can afford the rent at The District. In order to reach for your wallet instead of quickly browse, one must be desperate to find a gift or be like me, a shopaholic who can't find one more place to put 'stuff' one doesn't need - but I do. I always do.

Very eclectic handmade items! The store has a 'base inventory, but other items change often seasonally and, I suppose, by chance on availability. A little pricey, but I did buy a couple of items. Total of ~ $50 with tax. I will go back.

This place is a great place for gifts for my family. Right up their alley! Very nice staff and a beautifully decorated storefront. Highly recommended place!
