Our family stayed in one of the small cabins for a couple of nights late in the summer. Very clean, and the deck and patio areas were quite spacious. Perfect for hanging out, cooking with the grill or fire pit, etc. The park itself is well maintained. Though there are a few short hiking paths, the main draw is the water for fishing, boating, and beach. We were there during the week, and it was pretty quiet. A great place to just go and relax.

Over all we enjoyed our spot. It was on the bigger side with a good amount of space between the next spot. We were on the end so we only had one neighbor. With that being said, our end spot was well covered with tress, so it was not bad.nnThe swim beach was not bad. More rocks then sand. There were not a lot of bathroom at this park, and only about three sets of showers. The main, bigger, shower house had no hot water. It was cold. They had just finished a new bathroom/shower with only two spots. This one did have hot water, but it was too hot and you could not control the temp. It was also like standing in front of a pressure washer. You also loose all cell service when you enter the park, so keep that in mind.nnAll in all, we liked it here, but there are a few things that could have been improved on. The park over all was well cleaned and the park ranger drove around a good amount. I would recommend that you give this state park at least one try.

There are some nice camp sites here and cool views of the lake. Disappointed in the bathrooms and showers. We were there for 3 days and don't think they were cleaned regularly and there was only one main bathroom and shower building that was open. Lacked good lighting outside as well.

I love this park. The Burning Heart and Cider Wind RV campgrounds are my favorite. Always very private and plenty to choose from. Parents been coming here since it opened way back when now i carry on tradition. Best park in Kansas!

We really enjoyed our stay. Love love love all the shade trees. Beautiful place. Kids enjoyed the swimming beach and playground. Well cared for campgrounds.
