Allegawaho Memorial Heritage Park

Wonderful trail nearby. Reasonable elevation changes. Very enjoyable.

This is where our United States Government wanted the Kaw to stay. They used it as a stable for their horses instead.

I am hoping some day they will develop to make it more informative. The is right off of the American trail.

The trail is well maintained with great views of the monument! We hiked up the main trail that encircles the monument, however, it looked as though the maintained trail continued on with spectacular views of the Kanza Prairie!

Located right next to the Flint Hills Nature trail. Accessible via bike from Council Grove or from the east. Parking available to access the trail for day-rides. The Historical Park is on the north side of the trail with a walking loop that takes you around the Kaw memorial and then along Little John Creek. There is a bathroom on the north end of the trail.nThere is also a covered dugout that you can enter. Great place to take kids.
