Hiking on the trails is also very nice. The shade is pleasant and it's nice to have restroom facilities prior to hitting the trail.

My family loves going out on the their trails, which are all volunteer maintained. They have miles and miles of trails going around the lake, plus plenty of hitching posts, corrals, and rv hookups complete with fire pits if you want to extend your stay and make it a camping trip instead of a day trip. They also have a nice mounting block if your horse is tall!

Lots of well-marked trails overlooking a lake. Small corrals around the park for horses to rest. At the end of April when we visited, the grounds were nicely mown but the paths were overgrown and muddy, almost impassible for people and dogs, although there were plenty of horses traveling them. The worst were the ticks and other bugs. My husband and I are still finding more ticks attached after two days and two showers. Although I hope no one will resort to bug sprays in the woods, be sure to spray yourself with something nontoxic to avoid the ticks.

Stopped here for the trail head. I actually wasn't able to locate the trail, but it's really scenic around.

A treasure! Beautiful, well kept horse trails, very clean. If you like trail riding your own horse, don't miss this place!
