Plato's Closet - Overland Park, KS

We have been coming here for years and have always had a wonderful experience! This year, my daughter found a STUNNING homecoming dress that was both appropriate and gorgeous! They have a great selection for both men and women, and I have even found several nice things over the years for myself! The owners are very kind people, always looking to do the best thing for their clients. They are also willing to go above and beyond. I would recommend this place to any person or family looking for fun fashion at a fair price!

I was very disappointed in this location. We moved from out of state and loved our Platos Closet back home. We were customers of this location I would say 1-2 months back. It was the one and only time we will visit this store. When we walked in it appeared to be well stocked. As we dug in, I found more than half the store was women’s clothing and accessories. I really had to dig as more clothing than I expected had stains, holes, were in the wrong spot, or were not freshly laundered. We did find quite a few basics for school for two of my four kids but, like I said, we had to dig. Once we moved on to the fitting room there were several boxes stacked up and in the way. This brought my attention to just how messy the store really was. When we asked for a fitting room the woman acted completely bothered by the request and muttered something under her breath as a response to my request. I didn’t understand her. None of the employees this day went out of their way to acknowledge us, make us feel welcome, or offer any customer service. I try to teach my children by real life experiences. So on this day I was teaching fitting room etiquette. I made my son put things back on hangers when he was done trying them on and return them to the employees. When he walked up to her and offered them she stared at him like she had no clue what he wanted from her. He’s autistic so I always prep him on what to say to get more social experience. So, I was aggravated she treated my 13-year-old this way. On to checkout. I believe the owner checked us out. While we were waiting for her to acknowledge us she was bashing the previous owners and the way they used to do sorting and pricing and how things got missed. She was exclaiming how her way was so much better and made more sense. Then, like a robot she started checking us out without making any eye contact until I forced it. As I read the other reviews I felt more validated that it wasn’t just a bad day for the entire store but bad hires and management/owners. I can tell from their responses to the reviews they look up every customer and try to validate their behavior instead of fixing the problem. I hope the owners realize business will struggle until they take ownership of the bad, not just good.

Super clean and really friendly workers!! Definitely recommend for Christmas gifts, they never fail to have the cutest stuff for such amazing prices.n10/10 recommend for everybody :)

I am so glad I discovered this place! Great service, amazing finds AND you make money selling your stuff there. They have name brand clothes and accessories for a FRACTION of the retail cost. I am stylin' now because of this store. Highly recommend - shop thrifty!!
