Lake Olathe Park

This is a great park. The Marina has a lot of rentals at relatively reasonable price. The trails are accessible, but still enjoyable. I haven't been in the eagles nest yet because of the pandemic, but the outside and what I can see through the windows are very nice. Our about troop uses the ampitheater for our meeting. It is large enough for distancing while still being part of the bigger group. Fishing is every pretty good.

Mostly we love always to lake although today someone was feeling blocked from where they were trying to go and drove right through the grass between the rocks near the road and the playground equipment nearly hitting two small children so I'm a little skeptical to give a fully five-star review though I wish we could do four and a half

We kayak here all the time. It's a great little spot. Don't steal it.

The lake is beautiful, though somewhat crowded (of course). Only problem is that it stinks, and it's very muddy, especially the south end. And I don't recall Shawnee Mission Park lake, or Lake Lenexa ever smelling like this... The smell lingers for hours, even though we only kayaked, didn't get in the water.

Love the new disc golf course, marina with kayak + paddle board + canoe + pedal boat rentals, swim beach, event center, and interactive sensory features at Lake Olathe. Same beautiful views. Worth the drive out there.
