Geary State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area

Hidden little treasure in the middle of Kansas

There are some grasslands, as well as some smaller trails in the wooded areas. We came to this park after seeing images in a travel guide of the waterfall. We had to drive around a couple times, as the falls aren't notated on any maps or trailmarkers (it's a short walk past the grass dam, btw). There was hardly any water, due to a lack of recent rain. The campgrounds look nice, but we did not stay at them. Overall, the park is alright, but could definitely have better maps/markers, especially if it's featured in local travel and visitor magazines.

This is such a great place for kids to play, particularly in Geary Falls. Kids caught frogs and I attempted to take pretty waterfall photos, though the sun was really bright so it was a bit more challenging. The water below the falls was shallow the day we were there, so the kids had a blast splashing around, and climbing up the waterfall too. A great place.

I went there with my family I was amazing, nice breeze, fresh water. But if you're scared of snakes you gonna have fun time to play with them.
