I had an amazing hike here. What an amazing place!nI was able to hike from the Jorgen's Hollow trailhead to marker 23 and back in about 5 hours.nThe trailhead is off of 10+ miles of loose gravel road so be sure to travel in a vehicle capable of making the journey safely. Don't forget sunscreen and bug spray as the trail winds through field and forest.nAlso, be sure to give grazing livestock and their canine guardians plenty of space if you encounter them.nExperience the beauty of America!
We stopped here briefly on our way back east from visiting Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. I thought it would probably be a good place to take a break and do some bird watching.nnThere was a lot of bird life here. We didn't see anything spectacular, but I have no doubt we would have if we had spent more time. Still birds were everywhere - kingbirds, peewees, a pair of bobolinks, rough-winged swallows, killdeer, robins, grasshopper sparrow, and more.nnJust be aware that you will have to walk on a trail of cow patties.nnAnd there is very little shade. But there are small stands of scrubby little trees to get a break from the sun.
Off the beaten path but a scenic short walk that’s worth the stop if nearby.
