Cheyenne Bottoms Refuge

Wetlands are beautiful and teeming with wildlife. Visitor center is boarded up and closed. Local druggies and drunks took over the area after midnight, drag racing up and down the dirt roads and pulling in to the campground to get a quick fix before taking off. Didn't sleep at all with all the riff raff. Didn't see one cop or ranger in 2 days.

Great wetlands area for waterfowl hunting or just bird watching in general. Does get crowded during hunting season but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Amazing place.. but everyone stay away. No crowds please

What a lovely wide open space for specific birds to stopover during migration or inhabit on a regular basis. I addled several species to my life list, too!

Very pretty. Take mosquito repellent and bathe in it.
