The owner Leta, is personable and friendly. She has been in this location for over 20 years.nTry the Kansas City chicken sandwich. It's a grilled chicken breast with smoky cheddar cheese barbecue sauce grilled onions and served on Texas toast.nOne of the other go to items is the Country Burger which is topped hash browns, onions and cheddar cheese.nThe chicken is hand prepared per order. Hand breaded and fried. It takes a few minutes because it is fresh!!!nA must have is the pie, but get there early as they go quickly.nThe restaurant is noted in the Directory of Iowa's Best Ma & Pa restaurants. I’m a truck driver....was looking for a hot meal came upon grandma’s diner and it was absolutely the best hot food I have had in a while the taste it had so much flavor ....going the extra mile...it’s hard to find places like this anymore friendly service and people who care about their food instead of just a name

My husband and I were traveling through Iowa and found Grandma's Diner at lunch time. Delicious! Best diner food I have had in quite awhile. The owners were so friendly. If I ever pass this way again, I will be sure to visit.

Very good food. Atmosphere is typical of a small town cafe. Only downside was the smell of grease in the air.

Food was great! Service was good and friendly. I ordered steak. The steak was very soft and juicy. I was passing through and I wasn't sure about stopping by but I'm glad I did. If I'm close by I will definitely stop by again.
