Rick, the manager, was extremely helpful! I shopped around for a bit in Ankeny and I was able to find the most space for my money With Storage-Mart. After talking, he was able to save me $10 a month on top of the already great price I was locked in at. Recommended!

I was in a pinch, in need of a storage unit within days notice, otherwise I would have taken my business elsewhere after all this. I had gone online and reserved the size and type of unit I needed at a very fair price. The first two times I called the corporate office they couldn’t find any evidence of my reservation (even though I had a confirmation email and a confirmation number from them). Both times they transferred me directly to the Ankeny office and I got no answer (just a machine saying no one was in office). Finally the third time I called the corporate office they did find my reservation (with the correct price) and they tried to reach the Ankeny office...no answer. The corporate office had absolutely no idea why they weren’t answering and suggested I go to the office in person. I did and it was closed (well within the normal business hours posted on the door and online). I called the corporate office AGAIN and explained my situation. They said they had no idea why they were closed and started looking for units at other locations. She found the same size unit a town over for almost double the price. I asked if they would honor the price I would have gotten in Ankeny since it was not my fault the office was closed for no known reason. She said no they could not honor the price. What terrible customer service. By no fault of my own you are needing to move my unit to a different town and you can’t even offer me the price I would have gotten had your office been open like it should have been? After a lot of back and forth I went with a similar sized unit for close the double the price. THEN she says I NEED to get insurance for a medium sized unit. Okay, if I need it I’ll get it. Come to find out they had less expensive insurance options, the one I got was just the SUGGESTED package for my size unit (mind you my stuff was only going to be in the unit for two weeks so I didn’t really need a great insurance plan). She never told me about the different options for insurance, just that I needed it. The unit itself was dark, damp, and full of spiders and crickets but that’s beside the point. Had I not been in such a bind I would have taken my business elsewhere.

I am going to leave two reviews here. One about the storage unit and one about the company.nPro: The storage unit was nice and clean. There are two entrances which makes it very convenient. It is gated and pass code protected. The area on a whole is very nice, clean and well kept.nCon: I went to pay my bill online and it was higher than it should be. You can get a discounted price if you reserve and pay online rather than go in to the office to do so. Us, living out of town, went online and reserved and paid for the unit. When I looked at my bill I called the office to inquire about the charges and they were charging me the higher price, the one they charge for reserving in person. I explained to the lady on the phone that we reserved and paid online and we were to get the first month free and then after that the charges were supposed to be the reduced online price. She said she would get a hold of the district office and get back to me but I have yet to hear back and it has been about a week. I will be reaching out again tomorrow but truthfully I am somewhat disappointed. I realize mistakes happen but taking care of customers should be a priority and making sure your billing is correct is one important way to take care of a customer. I hope I do not have to go through this every month. I like to pay my bills ahead of time and waiting for a response upsets me.

I had the opportunity to work with the StorageMart location on S. Ankeny Blvd in ankeny! I was in desperate need for a unit that day and they made it very easy and painless for me to rent a unit and have access to it that day! The man that helped me was very nice and helpful! He even asked if we needed help unloading our items! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

The gentleman that helped me was very knowledgeable very kind and patient as I asked many questions. I look forward to talking to the local dealership for I called on Sunday. I highly recommend this business
