My friend and I enjoyed a delicious, refreshing and hot late morning coffee and treat at St. Kildas on Saturday morning durning our walk around downtown. We were happy the weather allowed us to eat on the patio. COVID times.
This place is one of the few places in Des Moines that has CONSISTENTLY great food and service. Clean beautiful restaurants. The owner and his wife are local and some of the coolest people you will meet. I go here often and so do people I introduce to their restaurants. You wont be disappointed. If you appreciate good food you owe it to yourself to try St. Kilda!
My soup was less than pleasurable. Chicken with celery and onion. It was described to me as a Cicken and Rice soup but a different grain was used in place of rice. I guess that was my sign they had no idea what the soup even was for the day.
And who said Downtown Des Moines wasnt upscale. Changed my plans and stayed from just coffee to lunch. Great staff great food great presentation. A bit pricey but well worth it.
Good food, pretty good service. The food took a minute or two longer to be prepared than I expected, but it was good and tasted fresh.
