I took my daughter here for daycare and she loved it. The entire staff specializes in early childhood education (they aren't just babysitters) so they educate the children through various activities. This might be the best place in Grand Forks.
We have had our son here for the last 2 years and it has been an unbelievably positive experience. The teachers do a fantastic job of not only educating but making this such a positive and caring environment. We toured multiple centers when it was time for a preschool and this was by far the best choice we could have ever made. I teach Developmental Psychology at UND and several of my students have worked at UCLC over the years and also have nothing but positive comments to make. GREAT PLACE!!
The UCLC is a top quality center, that provides excellent care, uses best practices, and has received top marks at the state and national level. For the past 13 years I have spent countless hours there supervising student teachers, and helping future educators present exciting and stimulating lessons on topics from science, to literacy, to music. The children there are joyful, engaged in meaningful learning, and respected. If my grandchildren lived anywhere in the Greater Grand Forks area THIS is THE center they would attend! I know they would be well cared for, respected, and encouraged to learn and grow to reach their potential.
Wonderful center! I have my second child at UCLC and my older child still goes there for a summer school-aged program. Both of them have had wonderful experiences and spend their time there engaging in enriching, developmentally appropriate activities. By far the best child care/school my children have been in. I have a PhD in educational psychology and teach child development. My students observe at UCLC and learn so much about how to work with kids from their observations.
We are so grateful for UCLC. Our kids have been attending UCLC since 2016, attending both the toddler and preschool rooms there. I have complete peace of mind knowing this is where my children spend their time while my husband and I are at work. The emergent curriculum, high levels of education of the teachers, and excellent experience displayed by the staff are second to none. The efforts that the teachers make to connect with each child and to also make connections between home and school are so impressive and heartwarming. My children are seen, respected, educated, and loved here. They are allowed to take safe risks and try new things. They eat healthy meals and play outside. They learn empathy, problem solving skills, and social emotional skills alongside things like science, math, and reading. I view the financial investment we make in our kids' tuition here as one of the best gifts we will give them in preparing them for a lifetime of learning, playing, and cooperating with others, so much so that we chose to give our 5 year old another year of play based learning before he enters elementary school.
