Lovely day for a walk.
Army corps of engineers will allow little kids to smash and deface the stones..yet kick out anyone with rc trucks under the 'no motor vehicle' rules. The park rangers are rude. The history of this place is fascinating though. Still worth a visit.
This is honestly one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. ud83dude0a A 1993 flood at the dam here exposed an “ancient sea,” where you can see FOSSILS. You can touch a 380-million-year-old (allegedly) fossil! Friggin’ amazing. The area is very pretty, and there is a really nicely-designed overlook/walkway, with a lot of explanatory plaques. A must-see!! Only downside is I had zero cell service in the park...
