Josef's School of Hair Design

The staff and students at Josef's are all incredibly kind and very friendly. I got my hair coloured a few weeks ago, it looked, and still looks, fantastic. The girl who did my hair was sweet and I had a lot of fun talking to her as she did my hair. It took a little longer than I was expecting, but it was a great experience overall.

I attended Josef's 2009-2010! Josef's gave us the skills, the mindset and the experience we needed as well as the creative outlets to be successful hairstylists behind the chair. I have been working as a cosmetologist since leaving school and have owned my own salon for the past three years! Mr. Joseph Oliveri is a legend and there is no better hair school out there than Josef's!

I used to be a student here and learned a lot while here, the education was good however the business side of things has been horrible. They didn't file my financial aid and didn't realize until I graduated. Now I continue to pay the loan I got through them but they will not send any balance. I am now trying to get my transcripts sent for college and have been calling and emailing for over 6 months and have only gotten a text response that they sent them in yet it has now been 2 months and the school has not received. Their filing system is in boxes down in the basement not on a computer. I'm not sure how they can stay open when they can't seem to manage the business side of things.

Went in for the first time about a month ago, and I'm already calling to make another appointment! Love this place and the fact that they're students getting experience! My ombré came out perfectly!

I went in for my usual hair cut. I have color-treated hair so I asked my cosmetologist not to use heat with my hair, wash with cold water etc. So, she washed and cut my hair just fine... she asked me how I styled my hair and I told her I prefer as much volume as possible but then she pulled out a flat-iron and told me the instructor told her to straighten my hair. I was hesitant but agreed if she added a heat protectant. So she flattened my my hair, I assumed she would add volume after, but she asked me how I liked it, as if she was finished styling. My color was ruined by the heat from the flat-iron, and I had told her I preferred my hair volulumized so I was very confused that she thought squishing my hair was even an option. I told her I didn't like my hair straightened and she got very upset and defensive with me. This made me upset as I've never had a problem with the cosmetologists at this location before. The whole experience was very distressing and now I have to reapply color to my hair.
